God I love a good song. Sometimes when I hear a song I really like just to sing along with my favorite artists. Especially when Im driving in the car, the inner geek Mike comes out. Well today was just another one of those days. Today was really warm in Atlanta so I had all my windows open in my car (still the Pathfinder, still no new car). I was driving home from the gym and was listening to Great Big Seas live cd Road Rage which is one of my favorite CDs. Well knowing the cd really well and loving all the songs I sang along driving down the road not really worrying that it was the middle of rush hour and there was tons of traffic. Its kind of like singing in the shower, everyone thinks they sound great when they can be drowned out by the music or water, but alas I digress. The traffic got so bad that I had come to an almost standstill, but still rocking out to the music turned up full blast. So not really thinking about anything I turn my head outside and look at the car next to me. As I turn and to look I see two women in the car next to me just sitting theyre grinning ear to ear, and then starting applaud my singing. The thought of trying to hide under the steering wheel had occurred to me but being the ham I just waved. They asked what I was singing, then finally the traffic started moving along and I just started up with another song and took the road less traveled.
As everyone and their brother must know by now unless they have been living under a rock, the new Harry Potter book Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix came out on Saturday (conveniently on the Summer Solstice, how about that). Of course I pre-ordered mine to guaranteed delivery, When I picked up the first Harry Potter book I read it all in one night. This won't happen this time around, the new Potter book is over 850 pages long. No wonder it took J.K. Rawlings so long to write. Im currently on chapter 5 and loving ever second of it. Ill give you a full review when Im done. If you haven't picked up the book yet click here to pick up your copy.
So thats it for tonight, Im just getting ready for an invasion of Fabers. Took you on surprise on that one? Ah that will have to wait till tomorrow night.
Hope youre all doing well
Peace
Mike
P.S. Tonight's fun link deals with music since I made such a fool singing earlier today so I'm playing off a common thread here, a band that I discoved back in March opening up for Great Big Sea here in Atlanta. The band is called Carbon Leaf and they are based out of Richmond, VA. they play a kind of Celtic Rock that just keeps you inthralled from start to finish. Take a peek I think you will like.
