Welcome To Fabersplace

May 2001, I decided I had enough of the glasses and figured it was time to get rid of them. I had a few mutual friends that had that the surgery done, and none of them had any major problems. Thus, being the brave (i.e. foolish) person that I am, I went through the required pre-tests, and my doctors told me that I was the perfect candidate for Lasik surgery.

I will tell you up-front I had no problems, fears, or such about my eyes and the surgery, but I wanted a family member present for the support. My Dad came out to be my cheering section, which was nice (and my Dad also had never been to California, which is another story for another time). We got to the doctor’s office at 10:45 a.m., and the whole visit, including the procedure, lasted only 45 minutes. The “surgery” didn’t hurt at all; I just felt like I was Malcolm McDowell in “A Clockwork Orange” with the eye clamps and such. After the procedure was over, I was able to see clearly within six hours for the first time in years without glasses. The surgery was so successful that my vision was 20/15 when I went in the next day for my post-op check-up. I have been asked by many if I would recommend it to others, and I would tell anyone to do it, if it’s within their means. Drop me a line if you have any questions. To learn all about the doctors that did my eyes, visit the Lasik Plus web site, and tell them I sent you.

Ok, I Could Barely See a Thing (That only lasted for about four hours), But It Was Done. Photo Credits – Ira Faber(since I was the one getting my eyes “done”). Yes I know the picture to the left isn't of my eye surgery, it's of Dad getting his tattoo. (He got it done the next day after my procedure). That's another story for another day....
