Hi
all. Welcome back and thanks for taking the time
to
stop by fabersplace.com. I am your host, Michael Faber;
and, well, this is my place. Some people might think
I'm using this site as a total ego stroke--well,
partly,
I am, but I also want to use this place for some fun
stuff, show the world what Im into, and offer
you a chance to take a peek into my everyday life
and
maybe learn something new in the process.
I'm
a 38-year-old Web designer who has been living
in Atlanta, Georgia area for the past three years
after living for the
previously for 10 years on and off in Seattle,
Washington. For most of my life, I have lived on
the East Coast (mostly around the New York / New Jersey
and Washington DC / Baltimore areas). Thus, I guess
you could consider me a West Coast
person, until recently.

I
graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.A.
in Graphic Design. Currently, I'm working as a
Web Designer and Project Manager for Kalico
Productions, which is
my own Web design and development company. My company
designs Web sites and marketing materials for
small and medium-sized companies across the U.S.
I have been running the company for the past five
years; its
been a great experience so far.
In
addition to running my business, I previously have dabbled
in a few different artistic fields, including radio,
acting, advertising, marketing, and software. I even
got caught up in the dot-com craze. I have owned or
partnered in several business on a few occasions. I
have enjoyed all the different jobs I have pursued,
but the one constant has been the ability to use my
creative side in some form or another. Click here
if you want to see my resume.

I
will not bore you with my likes and hobbies; hopefully,
you have enough curiosity inside of you to figure that
out by exploring this site. Hey, I'm giving you all
a little credit. So, please do explore my site by clicking
the links in the navigation bar on this page.
I have
a wonderful 5 1/2 year old son, William, who is the
apple of my eye, and hard to believe he will be begining
Kindergarden this year. Being a dad has fulfilled
me in ways I could never have even considered three
years ago. Being a father has also changed my life
in some other ways that I wont
get into on this website--sorry to be vague about
the details concerning the end of
my first marriage, but the less said is better for
all parties concerned. And of course I'm newly married
to my best friend and partner Judy, it's incredible
to think I have met someone who just completes me
so.
So,
take a peek around the Web site and just remember to
try and have fun. Any suggestions or critiques will
be greatly appreciated.

| Oh
yeah, before I leave you to your surfing, many people
have asked, Mike, didnt you used to wear glasses
all the time? Are wearing contacts now? The answer
to everyones question is Yes, I did wear glasses
all the time (since I was in my mid-20s), and no, Im
not wearing contacts (I found out early on that I was
allergic to contact lenses). I am the proud owner of Bionic
Eyes (just kidding)no; seriously, I had Lasik eye
surgery. To get the information and the pictures of my
procedure, click here. (Warning!
Not for the faint of heart). |
